About
THE TENNIS MENTOR

Transcript

Most families I work with are doing many things well.

They’re committed, they’re involved, and they care deeply about their child’s tennis development.

Where things usually start to break down isn’t effort, it’s content specificity, structure, and getting the process order right.

Over time, conflicting advice, misaligned coaching, and short-term reactions create noise. And that noise slowly pulls development off course, even when everyone’s trying their best.

My role is to act as the strategic mentor, advising on all aspects of the player’s developmental program. That means defining direction and setting standards across the player’s entire support system.

Making sure every decision is aligned so the player isn’t caught between competing voices, shifting priorities, or unnecessary focus.

Coach Mum / Dad is the operating model through which this work is done, delivered remotely, allowing families to engage regardless of location.

It’s an application-based engagement that gives parents clarity, confidence, and accountability, while protecting the player with a unified, long-term framework.

This work isn’t for everyone, it is for families who value high quality content, transparency, alignment, and long-term thinking.

If that sounds like you, and you're looking for high-level coaching with clear direction, you can apply below.

About AJ Muscillo

Adrian “AJ” Muscillo is a professional high-performance tennis coach specialising in strategic player development.

His work focuses on precise technical diagnosis, movement patterns and stances, tactical and mental alignment, and elite competitive readiness.

Over his career, AJ has guided players across all levels of the game — from developing juniors and nationally ranked athletes through to international juniors, collegiate players, and full-time professionals. His experience across private coaching, academy environments, and federation programs has given him a rare global perspective on what genuinely drives improvement versus what merely appears impressive.

AJ’s consulting is grounded in deep technical understanding. He is particularly known for diagnosing how grips, starting positions, and swing structure shape biomechanics, influence reaction speed, and enable the efficient production of power and spin with control. By identifying the true limiting factor first, AJ ensures players work on the correct priorities at the correct time, allowing progress to develop sustainably.

Beyond isolated work, AJ is highly regarded for connecting mechanics to tactical clarity, movement efficiency, and competitive decision-making. He conducts ongoing independent research into professional tennis and elite international junior events to ensure his guidance remains aligned with the modern demands of the game.

AJ is also an equipment specialist, having completed the USRSA Master Racquet Technician Course, allowing him to advise confidently on racquet setup, string selection, and equipment decisions that support performance and injury prevention.

His approach is deliberately simple and realistic. AJ does not rely on gadgets, gimmicks, or drills designed for online attention. Instead, his work reflects the principles used by high-level performers: clear purpose, disciplined execution, and constant alignment between technique, movement, and match play.

Today, Coach Mum / Dad represents the primary expression of this philosophy — delivered through a structured coaching engagement that gives players and families clarity, perspective, and confidence as they progress through each stage of development.
